Sophia Turns 2!

I'm two! I'm Two! (That was about all we could get out of her mouth on the morning of her birthday - and I really don't think she understood what it meant, but it was so sweet!)

It's been a great two years!  Sophia has been a wonderful addition to our family.  We cherish her beautiful smile and serious personality.  Her little attitude and the spunk that she shares with us each day.  She is momma's girl all the way.  Although if mommy isn't home, she cuddles up with daddy and plays with his hair.  This girl is all about touch - she loves to feel her eye lashes, play with her hair or if mommy or daddy are near she plays with theirs, she even plays with her baby dolls eye lashes.  She is growing more into a precious little girl everyday.  We had a weekend of fun with our baby (I mean BIG) girl!!

Whats's New?

Sophia and Micah continue to grow and change daily.
Baby is growing too!

Last week we found out through ultrasound that Baby Schmidt #3 is about 3 pounds already.  A healthy growing baby!!  What a blessing.  We are so thrilled to meet our baby in mid-March.  This baby is always on the move - trying to make more room for him/her self I think!  It's so fun to feel the baby and know that he or she will be joining our family in less than 10 weeks!

Sophia is getting the last of here baby teeth.  Her eye teeth are almost all the way through.  Although her vocabulary is quite limited, you can tell she is trying really hard to learn words.  She can say Hat, Sock, Milk, Water, Mama, Dada, Micah, ... to name a few.  She loves to spend time wrestling with Micah and Daddy or cuddling with Mommy!  Every night before bed we spend time singing "I'm a little Tea Pot" "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider", reading our Bible and Praying together.

Micah is learning more each day as well.  Preschool is teaching him lots of letter- his vocabulary is getting more advanced (last week he used the word "apprently".) I was quite impressed.  He loves to play with his little sister and doesnt's miss out on singing songs for her bedtime routine.  He still really enjoys monster trucks, playing farm with daddy, playing kitchen and dolls with Sophia and wrestling as much as daddy can handle.  Mommy and Micah find time together to cook in the kitchen and read books!

Both Micah and Sophia made a big transition this week.  In order to prep for baby, we bought bunk beds.  Sophia is on the bottom bunk (full size bed) - she looks so tiny in the big bed.  Micah is on the top twin bunk.  He is enjoying his new found space and his transformer sheets!

We continually feel blessed with our beautiful children. Although things are trying - and we are learning to be better parents DAILY!  We pray with God's help we will succeed as parents in raising God fearing children who serve him.

Christmas Time Is Here!

What a wonderful Christmas time we had this year.
We celebrated Christmas FOUR times with our families.

Starting by celebrating our family Christmas- Gordon and I took off Friday December 16th.  We opened stockings and our family gifts on Friday!  Sophia got to open her kitchen!  She loved it.
Micah opened a huge remote control car.  He couldn't wait to get it charged and head outside!

Friday night we headed up to Monticello to celebrate Christmas with Nana & Papa, Uncle Clint and Amanda.  We went to a play at Grace Church on Saturday evening and celebrated our Nelson family Christmas on Sunday!  We even had our regular Cordon Bleu, French Fries and Green Beans! YUMMY!

The following Thursday we left with Uncle Derek and Aunt Elizabeth for South Dakota to celebrate our Schmidt family Christmas.  The kids walked away with all kinds of fun toys.  A few favorites were Sophia's picnic basket and dress up clothes, and Micah's Cars Book & Hot Potato!  Daddy and Mommy got some fun stuff too!!!  This year Christmas day was in the 40's, so we enjoyed a Schmidt family game of Kickball.  It was so fun to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather!

We even were blessed to celebrate Christmas one last time in Sunday January 1 - in Monticello with Papa's family.  We made some crafts and enjoyed some sweets.  Micah was especially excited to play with his 2nd cousins - Cameron, Carter, Sawyer, Quinn and Nathaniel.  He loves to play with the big boys :)  And I think he kept them entertained too!
